Falcons vs. Giants Week 15 Odds
ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – In a rematch from the 2011-12 NFL Playoffs, the Atlanta Falcons will host the New York Giants this Sunday at 1:00PM ET looking for revenge.
NEW YORK: The Giants come into this matchup having won two of their last three games, which included a 52-27 thrashing of the Saints last Sunday in New York. Rookie David Wilson went off in the victory, rushing 13 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding a 97-yard kickoff return for a score. Eli Manning completed 22-of-35 passes for 259 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions, while Victor Cruz finished the day with eight catches for 121 yards and one touchdown. The victory allowed the Giants to maintain sole possession of first place in the NFC East, one game ahead of the Redskins and Cowboys, who are both 7-6, respectively. New York enters Week 15 with an 8-5 overall record and is 6-6-1 against the spread after covering as a 4-point favorite last week.
ATLANTA: The Panthers humiliated the Falcons last Sunday in an ugly 30-20 loss in Carolina. Matt Ryan completed 34-of-49 passes for 342 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, but Atlanta’s defense was no match for Cam Newton. The former No. 1 overall pick completed 23-of-35 passes for 287 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, while also rushing for 116 yards on nine carries with a 72-yard touchdown scamper. Jacquizz Rodgers was held in check, rushing just four times for 21 yards while Roddy White caught 9 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. Julio Jones also added five catches for 66 yards and a score. While the Falcons have already wrapped up the NFC South they’re still vying for the top seed in the NFC. They’re 11-2 on the year but doubts have already set in about how good this team really is. Are they a dominant force or are they a product of an easy schedule?
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Falcons are 1-point favorites over the Giants, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 51 points. New York is 8-5 overall and 3-3 on the road this year, while Atlanta is 11-2 overall and 6-0 at home.
TRENDS: The under is 6-1-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams and the road squad is 8-1 against the spread in the last nine meetings. The Giants are 10-2-1 against the number versus a team with a winning record but 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS win. The Falcons are also 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games versus the NFC.
