NFL Week 15 Opening Point Spreads
Despite suffering significant injuries on offense in Week 14, both the Panthers and Bengals opened as road favorites in Week 15.
Panthers at Giants, 1:00PM ET, Sunday
The undefeated Panthers lambasted NFC South rivals the Falcons 38-0 on Sunday and have opened as road favorites versus the Giants in Week 15 despite Jonathan Stewart and Greg Olsen both suffering injuries. Stewart should be fine despite suffering a foot injury in the win over Atlanta, while Olsen should also be good to go after sitting out Sunday’s second half with a knee injury. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Panthers have opened as 5.5-point favorites at the Giants on Sunday.
Bengals at 49ers, 4:25PM ET, Sunday
While Olsen and Stewart should be fine for the Panthers, the Bengals will defintiely be without quarterback Andy Dalton for the foreseeable future. Dalton suffered a fractured thumb in the team’s loss to the Steelers in Week 14 and will likely miss the rest of the regular season. Despite going from Dalton to second-year backup A.J. McCarron, Cincinnati still opened as a 4-point road favorite for Sunday’s game in San Francisco.
Broncos at Steelers, 4:25PM ET, Sunday
Even though Brock Osweiler played poorly in the Broncos’ home loss to the Raiders on Sunday and the Steelers have looked great in back-to-back weeks, it’s still a little surprising to see Pittsburgh open as a 6-point favorite over Denver in Week 15. This matchup could be a potential playoff preview because if the postseason were to start today, Denver would be the three-seed in the AFC while Pittsburgh would be the six-seed. That means the Steelers would travel to Denver to take on the Broncos in the wild card round of the playoffs. We’ll see if sharp bettors take the points with a Broncos team that continues to play well defensively.
