NFL Week 15 Predictions: Cleveland Browns vs. Buffalo Bills 12/18/16

Browns vs. Bills Prediction

The Bills are playing the lowly Browns today at 1:00PM ET and should pick up their seventh win of the season, but will they cover?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bills are now 10-point home favorites versus the Browns after opening as a 9.5-point favorite. As for the over/under, the number hit the board at 43.5 but has been bet down a full two points to 41.5 with more bad weather expected in the Buffalo area (17 mph winds, 50-percent chance of precipitation).

CLEVELAND: Earlier this week Browns coach Hue Jackson said that he wants to see a “jump in performance” from quarterback Robert Griffin III, who struggled mightily last Sunday in a loss to the Bengals. He completed just 12-of-28 passes for 104 yards with one interception. “I can understand last week, but I do not want to see it happen again this week,” Jackson said. “You have a game under your belt. You have practices under your belt. Now, you need to go play well. I expect that everything will be better from that standpoint.”

BUFFALO: Despite struggling last Sunday in a loss to Pittsburgh, Tyrod Taylor will start under center for the Bills. Taylor has 19 all-purpose touchdowns and only eight turnovers this season, so he’s hardly the Bills’ biggest problem right now. Rex Ryan’s defense, plus a myriad of injuries to the skill positions on offense have been bigger issues than Taylor.

OUR PREDICTION: The Browns are averaging 166.8 passing yards per game since Week 8 and have allowed an NFL-high 48 sacks in 2016. They have shown little to no life on offense this season and even though Le’Veon Bell gashed the Bills on the ground last week, I don’t expect a repeat performance from Cleveland’s lackluster backfield today. Having Kyle Williams (questionable/back) in the middle of Buffalo’s defense would help, but Taylor, LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins should all have decent days against a Browns team that is working on an 0-16 season.
