Saints vs. Cardinals Prediction
Are the Cardinals a good bet to cover the small spread this afternoon when they host the Saints at 4:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cardinals are 3-point home favorites versus the Saints after opening as a 2.5-point favorite. As for the total, the number hit the board at 50 and has been bet up slightly to 50.5.
The Saints should get one of their key offensive weapons back this week when rookie Michael Thomas returns from a foot injury. He didn’t play last Sunday in the team’s loss to the Buccaneers but is not listed on the Saints’ Week 15 injury report. The same goes for running back Mark Ingram, who is apparently over the toe injury that has hobbled him in recent weeks.
Earlier this week the Cardinals released receiver Michael Floyd after he was arrested for drunk driving on Monday. The Patriots claimed Floyd on waivers and the receiver will reportedly travel with the team for their Week 15 game at Denver. He becomes a free agent in 2017 so it’ll be interesting to see if the Patriots give the former first-round pick a serious look over the final three weeks of the season.

OUR PREDICTION: The Saints have failed to force a turnover in three of their last four games and will be without starting cornerback Delvin Breaux (shoulder) for today. I expect Carson Palmer to attack B.W. Webb and New Orleans’ secondary early and often. Meanwhile, the Cardinals defense will receive a boost when defensive back Tyrann Mathieu returns from injury. The home team is 6-0 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams, while the home team has cashed in four of the last five. In a game that doesn’t mean anything from a playoff standpoint, I’ll roll the dice on the home team laying only a field goal.
