NFL Week 16 Indianapolis Colts vs. Oakland Raiders Predictions 12/24/16

Colts vs. Raiders Prediction

Can the Colts pull off the upset or at least cover as an underdog today in Oakland when they visit the Raiders at 4:05PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Raiders are 3.5-point home favorites versus the Colts while the over/under currently sits at 53.5 points. While the point spread hasn’t moved off that 3.5 number, the total opened at 52.5 before being bet up a full point to 53.5.

INDIANAPOLIS KEY TRENDS: The Colts are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five road games and are 18-8-1 against the number in their last 27 games in December. They’re also 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game and have cashed in 15 of their last 21 games coming off a win of more than 14 points.

OAKLAND KEY TRENDS: The Raiders are 5-1 at the betting window in their last six conference games and are 6-2 against the number in their last eight games overall. They’re also just 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 home games, are 11-25-1 against the number in their last 37 games following an ATS win and are 16-34-1 at the betting window in their last 51 games in December.

OUR PREDICTION: The Colts still have an outside shot of winning the AFC South and securing a playoff spot, so I expect that they’ll give the Raiders their best effort. Frank Gore is having another solid season and he should find some open space against an Oakland run defense that ranks 25th in the NFL, allowing 116.9 yards per game on the ground. Andrew Luck was dealing with multiple injuries earlier in the week but isn’t on the Colts’ injury report this week. I think this is a field goal game either way.

NFL WEEK 16 PREDICTION: INDIANAPOLIS COLTS +3.5
