NFL Week 16: Will Patriots’ Tom Brady complete 27 passes vs. the Jets?

Busy day for Brady?

Tom Brady had to throw the ball a lot in the New England Patriots’ first meeting with the New York Jets. Will that be the case again when the two meet on Sunday?

According to oddsmakers at RealBets, the Patriots are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Jets today. The over/under total for the game has been set at 45.5 points. These two meet today at 1PM ET on CBS.

The Patriots (12-2, 7-5-2 ATS) picked up a 30-23 win over the Jets at home back on Oct. 25. In that game, the Pats took a very pass-heavy approach to the game, as Brady threw up 54 passes while the team attempted just nine rushes as a team. Brady had four of those nine rushes. The approach led to a win, but the Patriots were much healthier then than they are now. Brady still may have to throw a lot to win, but he hasn’t completed 34 passes in any other game this season. For today’s game, Brady has been given an over/under of 26.5 completions and 305.5 passing yards.

The Jets (9-5, 7-5-2 ATS) have been decent against the pass, allowing 240 yards per game. That puts them 13th in the league. They have given up 300 yards passing in in just four games this year. However, they have faced at least 32 passing attempts in all but two games this season. Brady has thrown at least 32 passes in all but two games this year, but with this likely to be a competitive contest, Brady will probably have to air it out frequently.
