The Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rams are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Redskins, who opened as a 1.5-point favorite before the line jumped the fence. As for the total, the number hit the board at 46 but has been bet down slightly to 45.5.

Washington Redskins Betting Trends

The Redskins are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games following an ATS loss and are 5-0 against the number in their last five games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game. They’re also 9-2 at the betting window in their last 11 road games.

Los Angeles Rams Betting Trends

The Rams are just 1-6-1 against the number in their last eight home games despite covering a week ago against the Colts. They’re also 0-7-1 against the spread in their last eight games versus NFC opponents and have failed to cover in seven of their last eight games overall.

OUR PREDICTION: I think people are hyperventilating over the Rams for no reason, but I do like them to improve to 2-0. Is that offensive line going to hold up all season? Probably not. Is Todd Gurley going to revert back to the superstar candidate that we saw when he was rookie? Not unless I’m wrong about the Rams’ offensive line. That said, is the defense still good? Yes, especially now that Aaron Donald has ended his holdout and Wade Phillips has taken over. Is Jared Goff improved? Yes, especially now that the Rams have a quality offensive mind in new coach Sean McVay. I don’t see the Rams winning more than five or six games this season, but today should be one of those victories. Tough spot for the Redskins, who fly cross-country and are feeling the pressures of avoiding an 0-2 start.

NFL WEEK 2 PICK: LOS ANGELES RAMS -2.5
