Titans vs. Browns Free Pick
After an impressive NFL debut last week in Tampa, will Marcus Mariota lead the Titans to a 2-0 record with a victory today over the Browns at 1:00PM ET?
Mariota was brilliant last Sunday versus an overmatched Buccaneer defense, completing 13-of-16 passes for 209 yards with four touchdowns while also running the ball twice for six yards. He showed the same poise and composure in the pocket that he displayed at Oregon and while he’ll receive a stiffer test today in Cleveland than he did last week in Tampa, Mariota should still have plenty of success.
The same cannot be said for Johnny Manziel, who was 13-of-24 for 182 yards with one touchdown, an interception and two fumbles in the Browns’ Week 1 loss to the Jets. He also admitted after the game that his elbow felt a “little bit” tight and with Josh McCown suffering a concussion, Manziel will draw the start. Tennessee’s defense isn’t formidable but Manziel should continue to struggle.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Browns are 1-point home underdogs after opening as 2.5-point favorites versus the Titans. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 41.5 points.
The Titans are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in Cleveland while the road team is 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
