Bucs vs. Cowboys Week 3 Odds
ARLINGTON, TX (The Spread) – Two teams coming off disappointing losses will clash on Sunday when the Cowboys host the Buccaneers at 1:00PM ET.
TAMPA BAY: The Bucs had a golden opportunity to improve their record to 2-0 on the season but couldn’t hang on to a double-digit lead versus the Giants last Sunday. Josh Freeman completed 15-of-28 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, while rookie Doug Martin had 20 carries for 66 yards and added a score. Vincent Jackson led all receivers with five catches for 128 yards and one touchdown, while Mike Williams also caught a game-tying 41-yard touchdown with just under two minutes remaining in the contest. With the loss the Bucs fell to 1-1 on the season.
DALLAS: One week after putting together a great performance in an upset win over New York on the road, the Cowboys came out flat against the Seahawks and were upset 27-7 as a 3-point road favorite. Tony Romo completed 23-of-40 passes for 251 yards with one touchdown and one interception but DeMarco Murray never got going and the rest of the offense sputtered. Miles Austin caught five passes for 63 yards and a touchdown, while Jason Witten chipped in four catches for 58 yards. The loss dropped Dallas to 1-1 on the year and 1-1 against the spread.
ODDS: According to odds makers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys are 7-point home favorites over the visiting Buccaneers, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 46.5 points. And of the wagers currently placed on Sunday’s game, 53% of the betting public favors the Cowboys.
TRENDS: The favorite is 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings between the Cowboys and Buccaneers, while the home team is 5-2 against the number in the last seven meetings between these two teams. The under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings and the Buccaneers are 0-4 against the spread in their last four games versus the Cowboys.
