NFL Week 3 Predictions: Washington Redskins vs. New York Giants 9/25/16

Redskins vs. Giants Prediction

Are the Giants a safe bet to beat and cover against the Redskins today when the NFC East rivals clash at 1:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Giants are 3.5-point home favorites versus the Redskins after opening as a 4-point favorite. As for the total, the number opened at 48 and has been bet down nearly two full points to 46.5.

The Redskins are now just 1-5 against the spread in their last six games played in September after losing to the Cowboys last Sunday as a small home favorite. Washington is also 0-4 against the spread in its last four games versus a team with a winning record and is 4-10-1 ATS in its last 15 games in Week 3.

The Giants are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games played in Week 3 and are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games when coming off a victory. They’re 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games played in the month of September, but are winless at 0-4 ATS in their last four home games versus a team with a losing road record.

OUR PREDICTION: A report by Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk said that Redskins players have “begun to complain about quarterback Kirk Cousins, pointing to a lack of decisiveness, erratic play, and confusion” following the team’s loss to Dallas last weekend. Cousins has completed just 5-of-17 passes for 34 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the red-zone this season after having success in the scoring area last season. The Giants defense looks to be very much improved after making several offseason moves and if their high-powered offense can click after two lackluster performances in the first two weeks, New York should cover today easily.

NFL WEEK 3 PREDICTION: NEW YORK GIANTS -3.5
