NFL Week 4 Injury Report: New York Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings 10/3/16

Giants vs. Vikings Injury Report

The Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants both have plenty of injuries that will impact how tonight’s game plays out on Monday Night Football. Here’s a breakdown of each team.

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Vikings are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -4 points against the Giants. The over/under total for the game has been listed at 43 points.

Bet on Giants vs. Vikings

The most notable injuries are with the Vikings, as they have really had some bad luck. Teddy Bridgewater suffered the devastating knee injury prior to the season and then Adrian Peterson tore his meniscus in Week 2. Along with that Matt Kalil, the team’s stud tack is on IR with a torn labrum and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd is out until early November with an injured knee. Despite these high-profile injuries, the Vikings are still undefeated and favored tonight. Jerick McKinnon is the current leading rusher with just 53 yards on 19 carries, but is dealing with a toe injury as well. He is expected to play tonight.

For the Giants, their injuries are quite as devastating as the Vikings, but they could be quite problematic tonight. The big focus is at two positions, running back and defensive back. At running back, Rashad Jennings is out with a thumb injury while Shane Vereen is on IR with a tricep injury. Those two have 249 of the team’s 297 rushing yards. Orleans Darkwa will be stepping in in their absence. He has 52 yards and a score on 11 carries. At defensive back, both Eli Apple (hamstring) and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (groin) are listed as doubtful to play tonight. That won’t help a Giants’ defense that is 18th in the league in defending the pass right now and facing a team that has to rely on the passing game so heavily.
