Browns vs. Redskins Pick
Can the Washington Redskins get to .500 on Sunday when they host the Cleveland Browns at 1PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Redskins are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Browns. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 46 points. Washington has won six of its last eight meetings with the Redskins, while the Browns are 3-2 against the spread in the last five meetings. These two haven’t faced off since 2012.
The Redskins moved to 1-2 on the season last Sunday with a 29-27 comeback win over the Giants in New York. Washington is 1-2 against the spread, covering in the win last week as an underdog. The Skins have been giving up a lot of yards, allowing 30.7 points and 437 yards per game this season. The team also took a hit last week with DeAngelo Hall getting hurt for the season with an ACL injury. On offense, Washington is averaging 22.7 points and 415.7 yards per game. They are also dealing with injuries as Desean Jackson and Matt Jones are both questionable to play this week. Kirk Cousins has been facing some scrutiny, but still has thrown for 989 yards with three touchdowns this season.
The Browns fell to 0-3 last season after a 30-24 OT loss to the Dolphins in Miami. Cleveland missed a field goal at the end of regulation that could have gotten them their first win. The Browns are 1-2 against the spread in the three losses. The Browns are also struggling on defense this season, allowing 409 yards and 28 points per game. The team could be without top corner Joe Haden again this week because of a groin injury. On offense, Cody Kessler made his first start last week and threw for 244 yards, but the Browns turned to Terrelle Pryor to do it all. He threw five passes for 35 yards, rushed for 21 yards and caught eight passes for 144 yards.

Washington isn’t a team that has shown an ability to really overpower an opponent or outclass them. While Cleveland has struggled, it has played both the Ravens and Dolphins tough the last two weeks. The Browns may have found something with Pryor in last week’s look and will look to utilize him again this week. Washington may win this game, but the Skins giving up 7.5 points seems like too much.
