Raiders vs. Falcons Week 6 Odds
ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – The Falcons will put their undefeated record on the line this Sunday in the Georgia Dome when they host the Raiders at 1:00PM ET.
OAKLAND: The Raiders have jumped out to a poor start this season. Their lone win came in a 34-31 shocker over the Steelers where they covered as a 3.5-point home favorite. Outside of that, they’re 0-3 and have failed to cover the spread in three of their over games, including in a 37-6 loss to the Broncos in Week 4. Darren McFadden leads the team in rushing with 201 yards, while Carson Palmer has thrown for 1,081 yards but has largely struggled. After the over covered in back-to-back games in Weeks 2 and 3, the combined score fell under the posted total of 47 points in Oakland’s loss to Denver two Sundays ago. The Raiders are hoping their bye week was just the thing they needed to get back on track.
ATLANTA: The Falcons remain one of two undefeated teams, with the other being the Houston Texans. In their five-game winning streak, Atlanta has covered the spread in four out of those five games. Their only non-cover came in a come-from-behind victory against the Panthers two weeks ago when the Falcons were favored by 7 points. Atlanta is coming off a 24-17 victory over the Redskins in which they covered as a 3-point road favorite. Despite having an offense that has scored at least 24 points in every game, the under is 3-2 in Atlanta’s five games this season. That’s thanks in large part to a defense that has held opponents somewhat in check over the first five weeks. Matt Ryan leads the team with 1,507 yards passing and Tony Gonzalez has a team-high four touchdowns.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Falcons are 9.5-point favorites over the Raiders, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 48.5 points. The Raiders enter this game with a straight up record of 1-3 and are 0-2 on the road, while the Falcons are 5-0 overall and 2-0 at home.
TRENDS: The favorite is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams. The Raiders, meanwhile, are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games.
