Browns vs. Steelers Free Pick
Rookie Colt McCoy will make his NFL debut on Sunday against one of the toughest defenses in the league. Read on to check out our NFL Week 6 pick for the Browns and Steelers game.
Before we get to our pick, let’s check out the latest point spread.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Steelers 14-point favorites over the Browns in Week 6. The over/under total for this game is currently 37.5 points.
McCoy will be thrust into action this Sunday due to injuries to Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme. The Browns are hoping their young quarterback can spark life into a team that is 1-4 on the year, which includes a 2-3 record against the spread.
Of course, the Steelers have some quarterback news of their own, as Ben Roethlisberger will return from a four-game suspension this week. The Steelers managed just fine without him in the previous four weeks, going 3-1 straight up and against the spread.
The Pick:
McCoy is going to struggle, there’s no doubt about that. All quarterbacks do in their first professional game. That said, they can also provide a spark and the Browns’ offense could definitely use one.
We like the Browns in an upset, although we don’t think they’ll win the game outright. It’s going to take a little bit of time for Big Ben to get used to the speed of the game again and the Steelers may keep the ball on the ground more than you think. There’s no sense in having Roethlisberger sling the ball all over the field when their defense should hold a struggling Cleveland offense in check.
Our pick is the Browns and the points. They’re 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams and 4-1 as an underdog in that time span. Meanwhile, the Steelers are just 1-4-1 ATS int ehir last six home games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven vs. the AFC North.
