Cards at Seahawks Pick
NFC West rivals square off at Qwest Field this Sunday when the Seattle Seahawks host the Arizona Cardinals at 4:05PM ET.
Fresh off their bye week, the Cardinals beat the Texans 28-21 last Sunday to cover as 6-point favorites. Kurt Warner threw for 302 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win, while Larry Fitzgerald hauled in five passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns.
The Seahawks earned their second victory of the season in Week 5 by trouncing the Jaguars 41-0. Matt Hasselbeck returned from injury to throw for 241 yards with four touchdowns in the win, while Nate Burleson caught six passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Seattle easily covered the spread as 3-point favorites.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Seahawks 3-point favorites over the Cardinals on Sunday. The over/under total for this game has been set at 47 points.
The Seahawks have proven time and time again that they’re a completely different team with Hasselbeck under center than they are with Seneca Wallace. Hasselbeck makes them a more potent offense and allows Seattle to keep the chains moving.
As long as Seattle contains Warner, Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, they should earn back-to-back victories for the first time all year. Of course, that’s easier said than done and most teams have issues slowing down Arizona’s passing attack.
That said, Qwest Field is one of the hardest environments to play in and we love the Seahawks only giving up three points in this matchup. We happen to think Arizona is a little overrated and haven’t proven that they can win consistently on the road. We think Seattle’s defense will come up with a couple of big stops to give the Hawks the win and the cover in a shootout.
Our NFL Week 6 Free Pick for this matchup is: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS -3 and OVER 47.
