Will the Panthers and Saints rack up enough points in the Superdome this Sunday to cash the over for bettors at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Saints are 3-point home underdogs versus the Panthers while the over/under currently sits at 53 points. As of this writing, neither the side nor the total have moved off the original numbers posted by oddsmakers.
The Panthers have now lost three straight games after falling 17-14 to the Bucs on Monday Night Football. They’ve also failed to cover the spread in three consecutive games, losing at the betting window as a 6-point favorite versus the Vikings, as a 2.5-point favorite versus the Falcons, and as a 6-point favorite versus the Bucs. The Panthers are 0-2 against the spread as a road favorite this season, which is what they’ll be Sunday in New Orleans if the spread holds up.
As for the Saints, they went into their bye week with a little momentum after beating the Chargers 35-34 in Week 4. That was their first win of the season, putting them at 1-3 to start the year. It was also the second time they’ve covered in 2016, making their ATS record 2-2 after covering versus the Giants as a 3.5-point road underdog in Week 2. The over has hit in three of their four games to start the season.

OUR PICK: The over has cashed in four of the last five meetings in New Orleans between these two teams and in seven of the last 10 meetings overall. The over is also 5-2 in the Saints’ last seven games and has cashed in eight of their last nine games following a bye week. The Panthers have struggled offensively this season but more importantly, defensively as well. New Orleans remains a dumpster fire on the defensive side of the ball, but continue to rack up points as Drew Brees tries to outscore his own defense. The over is the best play in this game and is one of the better plays on the board in Week 6.
