Browns vs. Titans Prediction
Will the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns be able to find much offense when the two meet up this afternoon at 1PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Titans are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Browns. The over/under total for the contest is currently listed at 43.5 points. The Browns have won five of their last seven against the Titans and the two have hit the over in seven of their last eight encounters.
The Titans return home after a two-game road trip where it went 1-1 to improve to 2-3 on the season. Tennessee has hit the over in three of five games this season, which is surprising because they average just 18.4 points per game right now. Their defense also is only allowing 20.2 points per game and just 336.2 yards per game as well. The defense is led by Brian Orakpo, who already has six sacks on the year. Offensively, Marcus Mariota has thrown for 1,088 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 132 yards and another score. DeMarco Murray has been a good addition for the team. He has run for 461 yards and three scores. He is currently second in the NFL in rushing. The offense could be without starting tackle Taylor Lewan, who is battling a shoulder injury and is listed as questionable.
Cleveland fell to 0-5 on the season last week with a 33-13 loss to the Patriots at home. The Browns are just 1-4 against the spread this season as they have lost by double digits in three of their five games, but they have hit the over in three of five games. Cleveland has been plagued by injuries at the QB position, already using five different ones this season. That has kept Cleveland to just 17.4 points per game in 2016. The Browns hoped they would get Josh McCown back this week, but he is unable to return from his broken collarbone. Cody Kessler was injured last week but is expected to play through a chest injury on Sunday and be the starter. Defensively, Cleveland has struggled this year, giving up 29.6 points and 411.8 yards per game. They are allowing nearly 300 passing yards per game this season. The unit could also be without top cornerback Joe Haden this week, as he is questionable with a groin injury.

The Browns are bad, but they have shown some heart this season despite all the injuries. I don’t suspect they will mail this game in and see it as a chance to get a win. The Titans don’t have the passing attack to really expose Cleveland’s lackluster pass defense, so I think this game will be a battle of the rushing attacks, which is likely to lead to a low-scoring game. I don’t see either offense really exploding with big plays today.
