Will the Jaguars stay hot and pick up their fourth win of the season when they host the Rams today at 4:05PM ET?
The Odds: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Jaguars are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Rams after this game opened as a pick’em. As for the total, the number hit the board at 44 but has been bet down to 42.5 at the majority of online sports books.
Los Angeles Rams: The Rams are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games, are 3-13-1 against the number in their last 17 games overall, and are 1-8-1 at the betting window in their last 10 games played on grass. They’re also 28-25-1 at the betting window in their last 87 road games when facing a team that has a winning record at home. As of this writing, 54% of the betting public is backing the Rams today.
Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games, are 4-0 against the number in their last four games versus a team with a winning record, and are 5-0 at the betting window in their last five games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game. That said, they’re just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games and have failed to cover in all four of their last four meetings with the Rams.
WHO COVERS: I’m going to keep this simple and hop on the Jags while they’re hot. Their defense is wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks and is coming off a five-interception performance versus Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers last week. Their run defense has had problems, but then again they just contained Le’Veon Bell so it’s capable of outperforming their statistics. At some point the Jaguars won’t be able to win by circumventing their quarterback but they can get by for now. The Rams are 3-13-1 against the spread in their last 17 games overall and are 1-7 at the betting window in their last eight games coming off a loss.
