SEATTLE: Even though they’re 2-3 on the year the Seahawks went into their bye week with some momentum. They nearly pulled off a dramatic second-half comeback at home against the Falcons in Week 5 before shocking the Giants 36-25 on the road in Week 6. Seattle has now covered the spread in three straight games to push its ATS record to 3-2 on the year. The over has hit in three of the Hawks’ first five games.
CLEVELAND: Despite a strong second-half effort against the Raiders in Oakland last Sunday, the Browns fell 24-17 to drop their record to 2-3. Cleveland is now 1-3-1 against he spread this season as the over has hit in three of its five games. Peyton Hillis leads the team with two touchdowns while Colt McCoy has 1,199 passing yards on the season.
ODDS: Oddsmakers currently list the host Browns as 3-point favorites over the Seahawks, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 40 points. The public seems to be on Cleveland early but it wouldn’t be a total shock to see more Seattle backers as the week progresses. The Seahawks are the team with momentum right now – not the Browns.
TRENDS: The Seahawks are 4-16 against the spread in road lined games over the last three seasons while the Browns are 2-9 ATS in home games over the past two years. Cleveland is also 4-12 ATS in games played on a grass field over the last two seasons while Seattle is 6-16 ATS after a bye week since 1992.
