Cardinals vs. Vikings Week 7 Odds
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (The Spread) – A pair of 4-2 teams will battle in Minnesota this Sunday when the Vikings host the Cardinals at 1:00PM ET.
ARIZONA: The Cardinals dropped to 4-2 on the year when the Bills beat them 19-16 in Week 5. Quarterback Kevin Kolb completed 14-of-26 passes for just 128 yards with one touchdown and an interception before he was knocked out of the game with a rib injury. John Skelton came in and was awful, completing 2-of-10 passes for 45 yards and an interception. Arizona’s 4-0 start is quickly becoming a distant memory as the team continues to struggle with pass protection and its running game. That said, the Cardinals are tied with the 49ers and Seahawks atop the NFC West and are 3-3 against the spread. The under is also 5-1 in their six games thus far.
MINNESOTA: The Vikings lost their second game of the season last week when the Redskins beat them 38-26. Quarterback Christian Ponder threw for 352 yards and two touchdowns but he also tossed two picks in the loss. Minnesota is now 4-2, which places them one game behind the Chicago Bears in the NFC North. Ponder leads the team with 1,434 passing yards and Adrian Peterson has a team-high 499 rushing yards. The Vikings are 3-3 against the spread while the under is 4-2 in their first six games.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Vikings are 6-point favorites over the Cardinals, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 39.5 points. Arizona is 4-2 overall and 1-1 on the road, while Minnesota is 4-2 overall and 3-0 at home.
TRENDS: The underdog is 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams, while the Cardinals are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus a team with a winning record. The Vikings, meanwhile, are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games and 4-11-2 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
