Giants vs. Seahawks Prediction
Are the Giants a good home underdog play on Sunday when they host the Seahawks at 4:25PM ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Seattle. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are 3.5-point road favorites to beat the Giants, who opened as 7.5-point home underdogs before the line dropped. As for the total, the number currently sits at 39.5 after hitting the board at 38.5 at the majority of online sportsbooks.
Who the Public Likes: Seattle. As of this writing, 59% of public bettors are backing the Seahawks and laying the 3.5 points. Seattle is coming off its bye while New York hopes to follow its first victory of the season with another upset win this afternoon.
Who the Trends Like: The favorite. The Seahawks are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five road games versus the Giants while the favorite has covered the spread in five of the last six meetings between these two teams. The over is also 5-1 in the last six meetings.
Who We Like: Seattle. The Giants pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year last week in Denver when they beat the Broncos on Sunday Night Football. That said, without Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall, I don’t think they’ll do it again. If they get their running game going like they did last Sunday in Denver, then perhaps this game will be close. Seattle’s run defense has been a weakness all season long, so it could happen. That said, I don’t trust the Giants offensive line against Seattle’s nasty pass rush. Eli Manning has been horrible for most of the season and I don’t think the Giants suddenly found their offensive rhythm in one week. The sharps must love the Giants in this matchup because they forced the line to drop from 7.5 to 3.5, but then again, all of the value has also been sucked out of New York. Buy the hook and take the road favorite.
