Bucs vs. 49ers Prediction
Will the 49ers cash as a small home favorite today when they host the Bucs at 4:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the 49ers are now 1-point home favorites versus the Bucs after opening as a 2-point home underdog when the lines opened. As for the total, the number opened at 47 but has dropped a full two points down to 45.
The Bucs remain severely banged up on both sides of the ball. Coach Dirk Koetter admitted this week that he isn’t sure when Doug Martin will return from his hamstring injury. With Charles Sims now on I.R., Jacquizz Rodgers will continue to see the majority of the snaps at running back. Vincent Jackson was also placed on injured reserve with a knee injury and while defensive tackle Gerald McCoy practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, he remains hobbled by a calf injury.
As for the 49ers, Torrey Smith is listed as questionable with a back injury but was able to practice on a limited basis on Friday. The big injury news for San Francisco is that Carlos Hyde has shed his sling but is out for Sunday due to the right shoulder injury he suffered last Sunday against the Bills. With Hyde out, Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn will be San Francisco’s top rushers.

OUR PREDICTION: The Buccaneers are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games versus the Niners and are 1-4 ATS in their last five games in San Francisco as well. The home team has also cashed in seven of the last nine meetings between these two teams and Tampa Bay is just 2-7 against the number in its last nine games overall. Jameis Winston has 10 turnovers in five games this season and the Buccaneer defense has allowed 142 points this season, which is the fourth most in franchise history through five games. Not that the 49ers are a dominant team, but they have the advantage with the mistake-prone Bucs traveling cross-country.
