Jets vs. Dolphins Prediction

Who Oddsmakers Like: Miami. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Dolphins are 3-point home favorites to beat the Jets, who opened as 3.5-point road underdogs. As for the total, the number hit the board at 38.5 and that’s where it currently sits at the majority of online sports books.
Who Public Bettors Like: Miami. Public bettors saw the Dolphins pull off a massive upset last week in Atlanta where they rallied from a 17-0 halftime deficit to beat the Falcons as a 14-point road underdog. Now the public is backing the Dolphins at a 58% clip to cover the spread versus the Jets today.
Who the Trends Like: New York. The Jets are 16-5 against the spread in their last 21 games in Miami and have covered in six of their last eight games overall. The Jets are also 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall, are 5-0 against the number in the month of October, and are 4-0 at the betting window in their last four conference games.
Who we Like: New York. The Jets beat the Dolphins 20-6 a few weeks ago in East Rutherford and I expect them to continue to play inspired ball under Todd Bowles. They went toe-to-toe with the Patriots last week and for a team that was accused of tanking in the offseason, they’ve been competitive nearly every week this season. Miami put together a nice rally against Atlanta last week but I’m not sold that all of the Dolphins’ problems offensively have been solved. This should be a tight game that comes down to the wire and I like the value that comes with the underdog.
