The Broncos head into Sunday winners of two in a row and three of their last four games. After erasing a 24-0 halftime deficit in a 35-24 win over the Chargers two weeks ago, Denver blasted New Orleans 34-14 last Sunday night. The Broncos are now 4-3 and own sole possession of first place in the AFC West, and they’ve also covered the spread in each of their last two games. (They were a 1-point underdog versus San Diego and a 6-point home favorite versus New Orleans.) Peyton Manning leads the team with 2,113 passing yards while Demaryius Thomas has a team-high 679 receiving yards.
Unlike the Broncos, the Bengals will limp into Sunday’s game losers of three straight. They were off last week but suffered a 24-17 loss at the hands of the Steelers in Week 7. They’ve also failed to cover the spread in each of their last three games and are now 2-4-1 against the spread this season. A.J. Green continues to be the highlight of the offense, however, as he leads Cincinnati in both receiving yards (636) and touchdowns (7). The Bengals are currently in third place in the AFC North with a 3-4 record.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Broncos are 3.5-point favorites versus the Bengals this Sunday, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47 points. Denver enters the game with a 4-3 overall record and is 1-2 on the road this season, while Cincinnati is 3-4 overall and 1-2 at home.
TRENDS: The Bengals are 1-0 against the spread versus the Broncos over the last three seasons, although Denver is 1-0 straight up against Cincinnati during that same span. The last time these two teams played, the combined score went over the posted total.
