Odds solidly behind Ravens for Sunday’s meetings with the Jaguars

BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – Part of the ultra-competitive AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens know every win is important, which is why they can’t look past the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday.

The Ravens are coming off a 28-13 win at Miami last week to improve to 8-5 on the season. Baltimore is now ½ a game behind Cincinnati in the AFC North and currently tied with the Steelers for second in the division. Baltimore has won three of its last four coming into this game, covering in all three wins. It is 7-5-1 against the spread on the season. The Ravens have also hit the over in four of their last six.

Jacksonville is coming off a 27-13 loss to Houston at home last week. The Jags have lost five of their last six games and are now 2-11 on the season. Jacksonville is just 3-9-1 against the spread as well, going 1-4-1 ATS in its last six games. They have also hit the under in six of their last nine.

Oddsmakers see the Ravens as the overwhelming favorite in this game, as oddsmakers from BetDSI have given Baltimore odds of -14 points against the Jaguars at home. The over/under total for the game has been set at 45.5 points (View Matchup). The home team has won and covered the spread in five straight between these two and they have pushed or hit the under in four of their last five meetings.

They key in this game will likely be Baltimore’s run game against the Jags’ run defense. Jacksonville is allowing 132.8 yards per game on the ground, which ranks 28th in the NFL. Conversely, Baltimore has the fifth-best rushing attack, averaging 135.7 yards per game on the ground. Despite the loss of Ray Rice this season, Baltimore has found something big in Justin Forsett, who has rushed for 1,080 yards and eight touchdowns.
