Seahawks giving 10.5 to Panthers
SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – The Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers vie for a spot in the NFC Championship tonight when they meet at 8:15PM ET in the NFL Divisional Playoffs.
The Seahawks won their last six games of the season to go 12-4 on the year and win the NFC West and the top seed in the NFC playoffs. Seattle is 9-6-1 against the spread this season and they are 5-0-1 ATS in their current six-game winning streak. They have covered in four straight home games while hitting the under in five of their last six games.
Carolina has won five straight coming into this game. The Panthers won the last four games of the regular season to claim the NFC South championship. Last week, the Panthers defeated the Cardinals, 27-16, in the wild card playoffs. Carolina held Arizona to a record-low 78 yards of offense in the win while amassing 386 on their own. Carolina went 9-8 against the spread this season and the Panthers have covered in two straight overall and on the road. They have hit the under in three of their last four games.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, the Seahawks are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -10.5 points against the Panthers. The over/under total for the game has been set at 39.5 points (View Matchup).
Seattle has dominated this recent series, winning five of their last six against the Panthers, including a 13-9 victory in Carolina back on Oct. 26 of this season. This will be a game of two strong defenses battling. The big difference is likely that Seattle’s defense ranks much higher than Carolina, as Seattle gives up just 267.1 yards per game while Carolina is allowing 324.4 yards per game. The Seahawks are also averaging nearly 30 yards more per game on offense.
