Green Bay Packers DFS Spin
Aaron Rodgers completed 22-of-27 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns in the Packers’ 35-17, Week 2 win over the Lions Monday night. The panic button was smashed after the Packers got blown out 38-3 by the Saints in Week 1 when Rodgers completed just 15 balls for 133 scoreless yards and a pair of picks. But he predictably bounced back in a big way in a home date with the rebuilding Lions in town. Three of Rodgers’ four scores were four-, one-, and 11-yard hookups with Aaron Jones with the fourth going to Robert Tonyan. Rodgers also got Davante Adams back involved with an 8-121 line on a team-high nine looks. Rodgers actually left some big plays out there, missing Marquez Valdes-Scantling on a number of deep shots where he beat the cornerback over the top. Rodgers will get a tough Week 3 road test at the 49ers.
San Francisco 49ers DFS Spin
49ers placed RB JaMycal Hasty on injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain. Hasty will miss at least the next three weeks. Elijah Mitchell, once healthy, will form a committee with Trey Sermon while he is out. The 49ers have a Week 6 bye, so Hasty will get an additional week to heal before potentially making his return in Week 7. With Jeff Wilson eligible to return in Week 8 however, it’s unlikely that Hasty will have a lot of fantasy value even once he’s healthy. He can be safely dropped in all redraft leagues.
NFL Week 3 Betting Prediction
The over is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings between these two teams and is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in San Francisco. The over is also 4-0 in the Packers’ last four games as an underdog, is 5-1 in their last six games overall and is 5-0 in their last five games when they face a team with a winning record. On the other side, the over is 13-6-1 in the NIners’ last 20 games as a favorite, is 7-3 in their last 10 games versus an opponent with a losing record and is 13-5 in their last 18 games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
