Green Bay Packers DFS Spin
Aaron Rodgers completed 27-of-39 passes for 344 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Green Bay’s 25-22 Week 5 win over Cincinnati. In a wild overtime win that saw Mason Crosby whiff three straight game-winning field goal tries before sinking a 49-yarder to end the game, Sunday’s tilt between the Packers and Bengals was the first since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger with five missed field goals in the final three minutes of regulation or overtime. Rodgers eclipsed 300 yards with ease, connecting with Davante Adams on 11 of his 27 completions for 206 yards (!) including a 59-yard shot in the fourth quarter, and eventually icing the game in extra time with a 15-yard pass threading the needle to Randall Cobb (2/30). Although the veteran’s performance was proof he can still offer QB1 production when needed, there’s little chance Chicago forces the Packers into a shootout in Week 6. Rodgers remains a fringe QB1 with no rushing upside best reserved for 2-QB leagues.
Chicago Bears DFS Spin
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that Justin Fields (knee) “should be good to go” for Chicago’s Week 6 game against the Packers. The Bears have been run-heavy enough under Bill Lazor that Fields probably won’t get to do a lot unless they meet their match on defense … which could very well happen against the Packers on Sunday. Fields will remain a bit of a fantasy disappointment until he is unchained and given more carries.
Packers vs. Bears Betting Prediction
The Packers are 20-7 against the spread in their last 27 games versus the Bears and have covered in 17 of their last 22 games at Solider Field. Green Bay has also covered four straight games since dropping its opener to New Orleans and is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games as a favorite. On the other side, the Bears are just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 divisional games, are 2-6 against the number in their last eight conference tilts and are 1-4 at the betting window in their last five games as an underdog.
