Green Bay kicked off the new season last Thursday with a 42-34 win over New Orleans. The Packers gave up 477 yards defensively, but had 399 yards of offense on their own. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdowns passes in the first quarter alone and finished the game with 312 yards through the air.
Carolina opened its season with a 28-21 loss to Arizona. The Panthers gave up 14 points in the fourth quarter, including a punt return for a touchdown, to give the Cardinals the win. Despite the loss, the Panthers got an impressive showing from rookie quarterback Cam Newton. Newton was 24-for-37 passing for 422 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 18 yards and a touchdown.
In terms of Injuries, Green Bay linebackers Frank Zombo and Vic So’oto are both questionable with injures while cornerback Tramon Williams is questionable with a shoulder injury. For Carolina, linebacker Jon Beason was placed on injured reserve this week due to an Achilles injury.
