OUR PREDICTION: The 49ers will only win a handful of games this season but I think they’ll be more competitive than most expect. New head coach Kyle Shanahan game planned against the Panthers twice a year when he was in the NFC South as the Falcons’ offensive coordinator, so I expect a good strategy today at home versus Carolina. The Panthers’ talent will eventually take over, but I see this game being closer than some expect, with the Niners even in position to win it in the end.
