SCOTTSDALE, AZ (The Spread) – The Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers have a lot of questions going into the 2011 NFL Season Opener on Sunday. The two meet at 4:15PM ET on FOX.
Arizona was 5-11 last season and finished two games out of first in the NFC West while Carolina finished a poor 2-14 and had the worst record in the NFL. The Panthers have won seven of the last eight games against the Cardinals.

Arizona averaged just 18.1 points and 269 yards per game last season on offense. The Cardinals struggled with quarterback play, which is why they traded for Kevin Kolb and made him the starter this season. Kolb has played in 20 games in his career, throwing for 2,082 yards with 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. On defense, Arizona gave up 27.1 points and 373 yards per game. The Cardinals were one of the worst rushing defenses in the league, allowing 145 yards per game on the ground.
Carolina was the worst offensive team in the NFL last season, averaging just 12.3 points and 258.4 yards per game. The Panthers drafted Cam Newton with the top pick in the NFL draft and he will start at quarterback. Carolina also gets back DeAngelo Williams, who missed most of last season with an injury. Defensively, the Panthers allowed 25.5 points and 335 yards per game.
In terms of Injuries, Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis is questionable to play because of a knee injury while Arizona safety Adrian Wilson is questionable to play because of a bicep injury.
