Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have played well since Bryce Young took over starting duties again, with a 2-2 SU record and 4-0 ATS record in their last 4 games. The latest was a 26-23 loss to the Buccaneers. Young completed 26 of 46 pass attempts for 298 yards and a touchdown. Chuba Hubbard managed just 43 yards on the ground and also had a crucial fumble in overtime. Adam Thielen finished with 99 yards and a touchdown. The defense had 2 interceptions, 4 sacks and 8 tackles for loss.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have been dominant as of late, covering the spread in 6 of their last 7 games. The latest was a 24-19 win at the Baltimore Ravens. This was a bit of a strange game in which the teams combined for 26 first half points and then 0 points in the third quarter. Jalen Hurts completed 11 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown to Dallas Goedert. Saquon Barkley had 23 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles totaled just 252 yards on the day. The defense was able to hold the Ravens out of the end zone for the most part which worked well with Justin Tucker missing two field goals and an extra point.

Dallas Goedert was placed on the IR with a knee injury. DeVonta Smith is set to return following a 2 game absence. Darius Slay will return to the field after missing time with a concussion. However, safety Reed Blankenship was ruled out with a concussion.

Carolina is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games

The OVER is 4-1 in Carolina’s last 5 road games

Philadelphia is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games

The UNDER is 3-1 in Philadelphia’s last 4 games

Panthers vs. Eagles Prediction:

Take the Panthers to cover the 13.5 points in this one. I’ve been fading the Panthers the last few weeks but they’ve continued to find ways to keep the games close. Against the Chiefs they were down 20-6 late in the 2nd quarter and 27-16 in the 4th quarter but still managed to tie up the game. Last week the Bucs had a chance to put the game away but got stuffed on the goal line to end up with a field goal, then the Panthers actually took the lead. They should have won the game outright if not for the fumble from Hubbard in overtime.

I’m officially jumping on board the Panthers train. They have covered in 4 straight games. Bryce Young has thrown 4 touchdown passes to 1 interception in that time. He’s looked much better and he has the trusty hands of Adam Thielen back on the field. The Eagles have actually struggled on their home field this season with a 1-3 ATS record. They are also averaging just 23.8 points per game at home compared to 28.1 ppg on the road. I’ll roll with the Panthers to keep this one somewhat close.

Panthers vs. Eagles Prediction: Panthers +13.5
