Carolina Panthers DFS Spin
Panthers WR Adam Thielen (ankle) is questionable for Week 1 against the Falcons. Thielen got in a limited practice on Friday after sitting out the previous two sessions. He enters the week as a true coin-flip to play on Sunday. Between a potentially limited or absent Thielen and DJ Chark already being ruled out, Jonathan Mingo is locked in for a full complement of routes. If Thielen is still ailing, Mingo could dominate the targets in Carolina this week. Mingo is on the radar as a FLEX option for his debut.
Atlanta Falcons DFS Spin
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (thigh) is questionable for Week 1 against the Panthers. Patterson got a pair of limited sessions to open the week and was practicing again on Friday, likely a third limited session. He looks to be on the right side of questionable, though we won’t know for sure until Atlanta declares their inactives Sunday morning. Patterson, listed as playing the “Joker” position on Atlanta’s depth chart, is not on the fantasy radar for Week 1.

Panthers vs. Falcons Prediction:
Give me the points. While the Panthers are looking for a new identity under coach Frank Reich and rookie signal-caller Bryce Young, the Falcons know exactly who they are: A team that is going to run the ball consistently and ask first-year starter Desmond Ridder to manage the game. This philosophy will lead to a lot of tight games in which both the Falcons and their opponents to be close in the fourth quarter. While the Panthers don’t have the weapons to be explosive in the passing game, they do have a sound defense and a group of backs to help keep the pressure off Young.
