Will Broncos neutralize Gronk?
Tom Brady is losing receivers by the handful. Does this mean Rob Gronkowski will have a big day for the New England Patriots against the Denver Broncos tonight?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, New England is favored to stay unbeaten tonight, as the Patriots are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Broncos. The over/under total for the game has been set at 43 points. These two meet in Sunday Night Football at 8:30PM ET on NBC.
It was just a few weeks ago that the 10-0 Patriots lost Julian Edelman to a foot injury. Aaron Dobson and Dion Lewis have each went on IR in recent weeks and Danny Amendola and Keshawn Martin are both questionable with leg injuries for this game. That doesn’t leave many weapons outside of Gronk for Tom Brady to throw confidently to. Oddsmakers are listing Gronkowski with an over/under of 80.5 receiving yards for tonight’s game. He comes into this game with 51 catches for 843 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 84.3 yards per game.
The Patriots are up against an 8-2 Denver team that leads the NFL in passing defense, allowing just 190.6 yards per game through the air. The Broncos have also been strong against tight ends this season, giving up 42 catches for 494 yards and three scores. The 494 yards ranks 13th in the NFL. If Brady is unable to establish Gronk in the offense, the Patriots could struggle like they did last week against the Bills. Gronk had just two catches for 37 yards last week while the offense produced 356 total yards.
