Patriots vs. Broncos Pick
Will it be a low-scoring game in Denver on Sunday when the Broncos host the Patriots at 4:25PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Broncos are 3-point home underdogs versus the Patriots while the over/under currently sits at 44 points. As of this writing, neither the side nor the total have moved off the original number posted by oddsmakers.
Since losing to the Seahawks at home in mid-November the Patriots haven’t lost. They’re 4-0 over their last four weeks and 3-1 against the spread during that span. On Monday night they beat the Ravens 30-23 as a 6-point home favorite to improve their record to 11-2 straight up and 10-3 against the spread.
The Broncos, meanwhile, are struggling. They’re just 2-3 over their last five games and are coming off a 13-10 loss to the Titans as a 2-point road dog last Sunday. That loss put the Broncos at 8-5 and on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff picture in the AFC. The non-cover last week also dropped Denver’s ATS record to 8-5.

OUR PREDICTION: The Patriots know that they’ll need to lean on their running game to slow down Von Miller and the Broncos’ pass rush, the same pass rush that battered Tom Brady in the AFC title game last season. Thus, if New England goes with a ball-control offense against a Denver defense that can’t stop the run, logic dictates that the game will be low-scoring. Plus, Trevor Siemian and the Bronco offense isn’t exactly lighting up the scoreboard anyway. The under is 7-1 in the Patriots’ last eight road games and is 7-3 in the Broncos’ last 10 games overall.
