The Patriots could still win the AFC East but need to beat the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon and get some help. With Miami already eliminated from playoff contention, are the Pats a good play as a 6-point road favorite?

Mac Jones completed 22-of-30 passes for 227 yards and three TDs in the Patriots’ 50-10, Week 17 win over the Jaguars, adding 12 yards on two carries. Jones completed 73% of his passes and had no trouble moving the ball against the Jaguars. He hit Jakobi Meyers with a nice throw to the corner of the end zone. He also connected twice with Kristian Wilkerson for TDs. He found Wilkerson in the back of the end zone for the first TD of his career. He then hit Wilkerson wide open after the defense bit on a fake screen design. Wilkerson also dropped what would have been a third TD. Jones won’t be quite as efficient against Miami in Week 18, but he could have some additional volume if the Dolphins are able to play competitive football
Miami Dolphins DFS Spin
Tua Tagovailoa completed just 18-of-38 passes for 205 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception in the Dolphins’ 34-3, Week 17 loss to the Titans. And with that, the Dolphins’ win streak was snapped at seven, as Miami moves to 8-8 in its bid for a playoff spot. Tagovailoa couldn’t hold onto the ball in this one with the rain coming down all afternoon. He fumbled three times, losing one, and his 47.4% completion rate was a new season low. The Dolphins never really threatened the end zone. Over his last three starts, Tagovailoa is averaging 199.7 passing yards with a 3:4 TD:INT mark. Miami had been getting by on the back of its defense. The Dolphins will wrap up the regular season at home against the Patriots in Week 18. Tua will be nothing more than a back-end QB2.

The Patriots are just 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games in Miami, while the home team is 15-4 against the number in their last 19 games between these two teams. The Dolphins are also 6-2-1 against the spread in their last nine games overall, are 8-3 against the number in their last 11 games as a home dog and are 10-4 at the betting window in their last 14 home games versus an opponent with a winning road record.
