New England Patriots DFS Spin

Mac Jones completed just 18-of-35 passes for 218 scoreless yards in the Patriots’ 27-24, Week 8 win over the Chargers. Completing just over 50% of his passes, Jones moved the ball just well enough to get the Patriots in range for four Nick Folk field goals and a Damien Harris touchdown to pull off the road win. His leading receiver was Nelson Agholor with 60 yards on three grabs. Jones had thrown multiple touchdowns in 3-of-4 games coming into this one, but he has just one 300-yard game to his name through eight weeks and gets another tough Week 9 draw with the Panthers in Carolina.

Carolina Panthers DFS Spin

Panthers QB Sam Darnold has cleared concussion protocol, but he is questionable with a shoulder injury for Week 9. Panthers coach Matt Rhule said on Friday that the shoulder is “as much of an issue as the concussion” for Darnold, so his status for Week 9 against the Patriots is very much up in the air, even though he’s no longer in the concussion protocol. Darnold will test his shoulder pregame and a decision will be made from there. If he’s inactive, P.J. Walker would start at quarterback for Carolina.

NFL Week 9 Betting Prediction

The Patriots are winless at 0-5 against the spread in their last five games versus the Panthers and are 2-9-1 against the number in their last 12 games following an ATS win. The Panthers, meanwhile, are 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 games as an underdog and have cashed in five of their last seven games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.
