New England Patriots DFS Spin
Mac Jones (illness) practiced Friday. Jones practiced fully on Wednesday after picking up a back injury in Week 1 against the Dolphins. He missed Thursday’s practice with an illness. With a full Friday sessions, Jones should be good to go for Week 2 against a Steelers defense that terrorized Joe Burrow last week. Jones, who completed 21-of-30 passes for 213 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against Miami, is only playable in superflex formats going forward.
Pittsburgh Steelers DFS Spin
Mitch Trubisky completed 21-of-38 attempts for 194 yards and one touchdown in the Steelers’ 23-20, Week 1 win over the Bengals. Trubisky took care of the ball on a day when Joe Burrow threw four interceptions and lost a fumble. Those turnovers allowed the Steelers to win the game, but they also needed two missed game-winning kicks by Evan McPherson before Trubisky was able to lead a game-winning drive of his own. Chris Boswell kicked the game-winner at the end of overtime. Trubisky only rushed three times for nine yards, so he wasn’t able to put together a fantasy-relevant performance while playing from ahead in Week 1, despite a healthy 38 passing attempts. He’ll be a weak QB2 option at homes against the Patriots in Week 2.
