Eagles 2012-13 Season Odds
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – How many games will the Philadelphia Eagles win this season and will they contend for the 2013 Super Bowl?
According to oddsmakers, the Eagles are 11/1 to win the 2013 Super Bowl and 6/1 to win the 2013 NFC Championship Game. They’re also +140 to win the 2013 NFC East Division and have an over/under total of 10 for number of wins this season.
The Eagles signed offensive tackle Demetress Bell in free agency and also re-signed guard Evan Mathis. Another offseason addition is defensive tackle Derek Landri after losing defensive lineman Trevor Laws to the Rams in free agency. One other loss from the defensive side of the ball was Juqua Parker, who signed a free agent deal with the Browns.
In the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Eagles selected Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox. They came back in the second and took California linebacker Mychal Kendricks and Marshall defensive end Vinny Curry. In the third, Philly drafted Arizona quarterback Nick Foles, who could be thrust into action if Michael Vick doesn’t stay healthy.
And if the Eagles can’t keep Vick healthy then they’re going to miss the postseason again this season. There’s a plethora of talent on both sides of the ball and this team could win a very tough NFC East Division. But if Vick is on the sidelines instead of making big plays on the field, then it doesn’t matter how much talent the Eagles have. Andy Reid is always on the hot seat and there is pressure on Philadelphia to win now.
