According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Ravens are now 6-point home favorites over the Eagles after opening as a 5.5-point favorite. As for the total, the number opened at 41.5 but has been bet down a full point to 40.5 at the majority of sports books.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said earlier this week that he wants his rookie quarterback Carson Wentz to throw less. Wentz is on pace to attempt 613 passes this season, which would be the second-most by a rookie in NFL history. “I didn’t anticipate him throwing the ball quite as much,” Pederson said. “I’d love to manage that a little bit more for him. I think it’s putting him a tough situation.”

The Ravens fell to the Patriots on Monday night and at 7-6, are a game back of the Steelers in the AFC North. They’ll travel to Pittsburgh next week but can’t be caught looking ahead with only three games remaining on the schedule. In fact, with division rival Cincinnati waiting in Week 17, the Ravens can ill-afford to lose today against a non-conference opponent that’s struggling. This is arguably the easiest game left on Baltimore’s schedule and if the Ravens plan on playing deep into January, they need this one badly.

OUR PREDICTION: The Eagles have major injury issues along the offensive line. Lane Johnson remains suspended for performance enhancing drugs, while Allen Babre is questionable due to a hamstring injury and right guard Brandon Brooks is dealing with an anxiety condition that forced him to miss two of the last three games. Philadelphia is woefully thin at right tackle, the running game isn’t working and the defense is crumbling. The Ravens have everything to play for and while they’ve been inconsistent offensively this season, they’re a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games.
