Eagles vs. Dolphins Total Prediction
The struggling Eagles will look to even their record at 6-6 and stay on the Cowboys’ heels in the NFC East when they visit the Dolphins at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday. With the total dropping from 46 down to 45, is the under the play for bettors?
Game Snapshot
459 Philadelphia Eagles (-10) at 460 Miami Dolphins (+10); O/U 45
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, December 1, 2019
Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL

Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Spin
According to The Athletic’s Zach Berman, there is “optimism” Zach Ertz (hamstring) will play against the Dolphins in Week 13. Ertz will return to practice Friday after being a non-participant on both Wednesday and Thursday. It looks like he’ll be out there Sunday, which is obviously great news for Carson Wentz, who bottomed out with five turnovers in last week’s loss to Seattle. Ertz has finished as the TE3 or better in each of his last three appearances and should be a staple of DFS lineups against the listless Dolphins
Miami Dolphins Fantasy Spin
Coach Brian Flores confirmed that Kalen Ballage will continue to start at RB in Week 13. Ballage (24 snaps) barely worked ahead of Patrick Laird (23) and Myles Gaskin (16) in Week 12. Ballage has 198 yards from scrimmage on 85 touches this season: He’s been awful. Still, the Dolphins’ league-worst offensive line in average yards before contact per rush attempt certainly hasn’t helped matters. This has the signs of a full-blown committee moving forward in one of the league’s worst offenses. Fantasy owners should try to find another option.
NFL Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The over is 21-8 in the Eagles’ last 29 road games when facing an opponent with a losing record at home.
Miami
The under is 9-4 in the Dolphins’ last 13 games coming off a loss.
Prediction
The Eagles have done nothing offensively the past two weeks and while they should have more success against a bad Miami defense this weekend, I can’t just assume Philly will solve its issues on that side of the ball. The Eagles have, however, played very well defensively. In fact, since surrendering 37 points to the Cowboys in Dallas on October 20, Philly has limited its opponents to 13 (Buffalo), 14 (Chicago), 17 (New England) and 17 (Seattle) over its last four games. Miami QB Ryan Fitzpatrick plays with toughness and grit, while DeVante Parker has finally shown signs of why he was a top-15 pick. That said, the Dolphins lack talent offensively and I don’t see them reaching pay dirt enough to cash the over.
