Raiders’ Charles Woodson to retire, play final home game vs. Chargers

Charles Woodson to retire

After a long and successful NFL career, Charles Woodson is retiring after this season and is now set to play in his final home game with the Oakland Raiders on Thursday.

View Updated NFL Odds

Woodson announced on Monday night that he is going to step away from the game following the 2015 season, making Thursday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers the final one he will play in Oakland.

According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, the Raiders are currently listed as a 4.5-point favorite at home against the Chargers for Thursday night. The over/under total for the game has been set at 47 points.

Oakland is just 6-8 on the season and out of the playoff running, but Thursday’s game now has meaning, as the team will likely want to send Woodson out on a big note. The 18-year veteran has certainly had a Hall of Fame career. He has 974 tackles with 65 interceptions and 11 defensive touchdowns in his career. He is the only player in NFL history with at least 50 INTs and 20 sacks. The 8-time Pro Bowler won a Super Bowl with the Packers in 2011. The Michigan alum hasn’t been slowing down much either. He had four interceptions last season with 82 tackles and this year he has five interceptions with 65 tackles.
