Raiders vs. Patriots Week 3 Prediction
Will Cam Newton and the Patriots get back in the win column on Sunday when they host the Raiders at 1:00 p.m. ET? Better yet, will New England cover as a favorite of more than a touchdown in this Week 3 matchup?

NFL Week 3, Regular Season
Las Vegas Raiders DFS Spin
Derek Carr completed 28-of-38 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns in the Raiders’ 34-23, Week 2 win over the Saints Monday night. Carr had just one three-touchdown game all of last season. He had all night to throw with the Saints missing DE Marcus Davenport (elbow), and Carr’s three scores went to Alec Ingold (three yards), Zay Jones (15), and Darren Waller (one). It wasn’t a very fantasy-friendly output from Carr in terms of his pass catchers outside of Waller, who commanded a whopping 16 targets and posted 12-103-1 on the Saints. Like normal, Carr didn’t challenge downfield whatsoever, but he dinked and dunked his way to a strong night. Carr will not be a recommended fantasy play next week on the road at New England.
New England Patriots DFS Spin
Cam Newton completed 30-of-44 passes for 397 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Patriots’ Week 2 loss to Seattle. Newton led the team in rushing with 47 yards and a pair of scores. The Patriots abandoned the run early and were playing from behind in the second half. That allowed Newton to rack up 44 attempts and run it 11 times. Newton looked as good as he has in years, making decisive throws while completing 68 percent of his passes. He led the Patriots to a comeback in the final minutes but was stopped on a designed run at the goal-line on the last play of the game. Newton has thrown for 472 yards with four rushing touchdowns (five total) through two games. He gets a matchup with Raiders in Week 3.
Raiders vs. Patriots Betting Prediction
Bill Belichick is 8-1 in his career against the Raiders including playoffs, which is his highest win percentage against any single opponent. Carr, meanwhile, has thrown at least one touchdown and zero interceptions in six straight games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL. That said, the Patriots have intercepted a league-high 29 passes since the start of last season and still have one of the stronger defensive backfields in the NFL despite losing several defenders this offseason. The last 72 times the Pats have lost a game, they’re 48-23-1 against the spread in their following game.
NFL WEEK 3 BETTING PREDICTION: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS -6.5
