Las Vegas Raiders DFS Spin
The Raiders’ Josh Jacobs is one of the best running backs in the league. He’s posted three straight games of at least 20 carries, at least 140 rushing yards, and at least 1 touchdown. He’s third in the NFL in rushing yards with 633 and is one of only three players averaging over 100 rushing yards per game. He was limited in practice this Wednesday and is listed as questionable, but he should be able to play against the Saints this weekend. He’s a must-start in every DFS format when healthy.
The Saints’ secondary has been ravaged by injuries which makes Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and wide receivers Davante Adams and Mack Hollins attractive plays on the Superdome’s fast surface. The Saints are allowing 6.9 yards per pass attempt on the season, which ranks 20th in the NFL.
New Orleans Saints DFS Spin
The Saints named Andy Dalton the starting quarterback over a healthy Jameis Winston on Wednesday. Dalton has gone 1-3 as the New Orleans starter but did have a breakout game last Thursday, throwing for 361 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions in a 42-34 road loss to Arizona. The Saints had 5 different players post at least 50 receiving yards in that game.
Of those five players, I’d recommend rookie wide receiver Chris Olave and fifth-year wideout Tre’Quan Smith. These two players are almost guaranteed to get their share of targets because New Orleans has three wide receivers listed as questionable on the injury report (Jarvis Landry, Michael Thomas, and Keith Kirkwood) and one on injured reserve (Deonte Hardy). The Raiders’ defense is 26th in the league in average yards per pass attempt and 7th in average yards per rushing attempt. It’s for that reason that I’d favor New Orleans pass catchers over a running back like Alvin Kamara.
Raiders vs. Saints Betting Trends
Las Vegas is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games after gaining over 150 rushing yards in their previous game.
Las Vegas is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games in October.
New Orleans is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record.
New Orleans is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring over 30 points in their previous game.
Raiders vs. Saints Prediction:
Las Vegas might be 2-4 but they’re 11th in the NFL with an average scoring margin of +2.2. The Saints rank 24th with an average scoring margin of -3.6. The Raiders are a talented team and haven’t lost a game by more than 6 points. They’re third in the NFL in yards per rushing attempt at 5.4, largely because of Josh Jacobs. The Saints have a problem preventing points as they’re giving up 28.6 points per contest which is the second-worst mark in the league. I’ll take the team that can run the ball against the defense that can’t consistently get stops. I think the Raiders get a road win and begin their march to the playoffs this week.
