Gurley to play Thursday night vs. Bucs
It would appear that the St. Louis Rams will have their best offensive weapon when they host the Bucs on Thursday night.
Coach Jeff Fisher said that running back Todd Gurley is “fine” after having to come out of Sunday’s win over the Lions late in the fourth quarter. Gurley banged his knee in the victory and Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham had to finish the game for the Rams. But Gurley isn’t even on the injury report with the knee injury and was listed as “limited” on Monday, although that was due to rest.
Gurley is coming off a 140-yard, two-touchdown effort in Week 14. It was his fifth 100-yard performance of the season. When the Rams can get Gurley rolling, they’ve had significantly more success moving the ball this season, as opposed to when he’s bottled up. When defenses can take away Gurley, they essentially shut down St. Louis’ entire offense.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens on Thursday night when the Bucs and their 8th-ranked run defense have an opportunity to face the Rams. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rams are 1-point favorites over the Bucs, while the over/under sits at 41 points.
