Line continues to climb in TNF matchup
The point spread in tonight’s Thursday night matchup between the Bucs and Rams continues to climb in favor of the home team.
In what could be the last home game that the Rams ever play at the Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis is now a 2.5-point favorite versus the Buccaneers after the game opened as a pick’em. As for the total, the number sits at 41 points according to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag.
NFL owners will meet in January to decide the state of the Rams, whose owner Stan Kroenke wants to move to Los Angeles. With the Rams finishing out their season on the road, this could wind up being their last home game in St. Louis (which has been strong in its efforts to try to keep the team, which include a project to build a new downtown stadium for the team).
The Rams, who upset the Lions last Sunday as a 3-point home underdog, have been a poor bet coming off a win this season. They’re just 1-3 against the spread coming off a victory, losing by a margin of -2.5 points. That said, they’re 2-2 against the number as a home favorite this season, winning by a margin of 2.2 points.
As for the Bucs, they fell to the Saints as a home favorite last Sunday but the good news for Tampa Bay backers is that the team is 5-1 against the number coming off a loss this season. In those situations, the Bucs have won by a margin of 1.8 points. They’re also 4-2 against the spread as a road underdog, winning by 2.3 points.
