Passing Touchdowns: o/u 1.5
After capping the above props, there’s only one Burrow prop that I would be interested in on Super Bowl Sunday. Before we get to which prop makes the most sense to take advantage of, let’s briefly go over the ones that I’d pass on.
Let’s start with his passing yards over/under. In his 19 games this season including playoffs, Burrow has averaged 287 passing yards per game, which would lend to taking the over with his passing prop. However, the only time this postseason he went over 276.5 passing yards was in the Bengals’ Divisional round win over the Titans. The Rams are also holding opponents to 242.20 passing yards this season.
As for his passing attempts, Burrow averages 33.11 per game. So take the under, right? Well, he’s gone over 36.5 passing attempts in four of his last five games and the Rams are allowing opposing quarterbacks to attempt 36.40 per game. Again, that’s a pass for me.
There is a similar story to be told with Burrow’s pass completions total, which sits at 24.5. The Rams are allowing opposing signal-callers to complete 21.60 passes per game this season, while Burrow has averaged 23.21 completions over his 19 starts in 2021-22. However, he has gone over 24.5 completions in three of his last five games.
Let’s skip to the one Burrow prop I would play for Super Bowl LVI. In his 19 games this season, Burrow threw for over 1.5 touchdowns 13 times. Including the playoffs, Burrow has averaged 2.0 passing touchdowns per game and in the 10 games that the Bengals were an underdog, he threw two or more touchdowns eight times.
How has Burrow fared recently in the passing touchdown department? In his last five starts including playoffs, Burrow threw for at least two touchdowns in four of those contests. The lone exception was the Tennessee game, when he didn’t have a single passing touchdown in Cincinnati’s 19-16 victory.
Even though the juice is expensive, the over 1.5 passing touchdowns is the best Burrow-related prop play this weekend.
SUPER BOWL LVI PROP PREDICTION: JOE BURROW OVER 1.5 PASSING TOUCHDOWNS (-160)
