Los Angeles Rams DFS Spin
Rams starting tight end Tyler Higbee practiced Friday in a limited capacity due to an Achilles injury, and he’s listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in Indianapolis. Higbee has 11 catches for 132 yards in three games of action for Los Angeles this season.
Los Angeles backup wide receiver Ben Skowronek has also been nursing an Achilles injury. He’s questionable for this weekend’s game. Skowronek has 2 catches for 13 yards and 1 carry for 11 yards in three games this year.
Rams starting left tackle Alaric Jackson left last Monday’s game with a thigh injury, and he’s questionable for this weekend’s tilt with the Colts. Jackson started 6 of the 8 games he played in for Los Angeles last year.
Indianapolis Colts DFS Spin
Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson missed last week’s game with a concussion, but he’s listed as probable for Sunday’s clash with the Rams. Richardson has completed 30 of 47 passes for 279 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception while also adding 75 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns on the ground in 2023. He gives the Colts offense a higher ceiling and lower floor against the Rams on Sunday.
Colts starting center Ryan Kelly also missed Indy’s previous game with a concussion, but he’s been ruled out for Sunday’s game as he didn’t pass through concussion protocol. Making matters worse for the Colts, Indianapolis starting left tackle Bernhard Raimann has also been ruled out with a concussion. The Colts will be without 40% of their starting offensive line this weekend.
Rams vs. Colts Betting Trends
Los Angeles is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games.
Rams head coach Sean McVay is 11-6 ATS on short rest in his last 17 games.
Sean McVay is 11-5-2 ATS when coaching in the Eastern Time Zone.
Indianapolis is 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games.
Rams vs. Colts Prediction:
Indianapolis will start their rookie QB Anthony Richardson after he cleared concussion protocol. Richardson has immense size and physical talents, but he’s simply inexperienced as a starting quarterback. Anthony Richardson only started 13 college games before the Colts took him with the #4 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. He will struggle at some point this year, as all rookie signal-callers do. He might have a tough time with the Rams’ defense this Sunday.
Los Angeles defensive coordinator Raheem Morris has over two decades of collegiate and NFL coaching experience. He should be able to figure out ways to exploit Anthony Richardson’s weaknesses this weekend. The Rams’ defense ranks 9th in the NFL in opponent yards per pass attempt, and 6th in the NFL in opponent completion percentage. Indy will have to try to throw the ball to match points with L.A.’s offense, but I don’t think they’ll be able to. I’ll take Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford on the road.
