Rams vs. Ravens Week 17 Prediction
The Rams enter Week 17 of the NFL season already having clinched a playoff berth and as the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoff picture, but they can improve their standing with a win over the banged-up Ravens on Sunday. Will Baltimore hang as a home dog or will L.A. roll today at M&T Bank Stadium?

Speaking Thursday, Rams coach Sean McVay admitted it was unlikely Cam Akers (Achilles) plays in Week 17. “That was always the timeline that we’ve had in place,” McVay said of Akers returning in Week 18 or the postseason. That is despite McVay saying literally three days ago there was a “good possibility” Akers suited up against the Ravens. That was apparently due to a surprisingly good slate of practices last week. “He has definitely exceeded our expectations to even be available at this point,” McVay continued. “And so, I would say the Niners game, or the playoffs is what we’ve always kind of pinpointed as the potential spots.” Despite that optimism, McVay also allowed that it is difficult to evaluate Akers’ progress in pad-less practices, especially when it comes to “unscripted movements.” Although the Rams have a need at running back with Darrell Henderson (knee) on injured reserve, we would expect any January work Akers receives to be extremely limited behind Sony Michel.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport Reports Lamar Jackson (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 17 against the Rams. Jackson got in a very limited practice on Wednesday before being held out the next two days. Rapoport didn’t say he had officially been ruled out yet but that seems like a formality at this point. Tyler Huntley will draw his third start of the year. Huntley has completed 69 percent of his passes for three scores and one interception this season. He also adds some rushing production, putting him in the QB1 conversation.
