Cobb’s shoulder injury just a sprain

GREEN BAY, WI (The Spread) – An MRI revealed that Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb only suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder.

Cobb suffered the injury in the Packers’ third preseason game on Saturday night. He injured himself while trying to make a catch on the opening series of Green Bay’s game versus Philadelphia and was immediately taken to the locker room. X-rays came back negative and the Packers can breath a sigh of relief that the injury was just a sprain.

A week before Cobb went down, leading receiver Jordy Nelson was lost for the season when he tore his ACL in preseason game versus the Steelers. Even with Aaron Rodgers under center, losing Cobb for an extended period of time would have affected the Packers’ odds to win the Super Bowl.

As it stands now, the Packers are 15/2 to win this year’s NFL title, according to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets. They’re also 6.5-point road favorites versus the Bears in Week 1.
